As most of you know, our Association has been accepted into the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) as the 32^nd Chapter.  I have completed the required paperwork as a new Chapter as well as the requirements for our 2012 Chapter membership.  I hope to see you in San Antonio in May when we will accept our Chapter Certificate from ASFPM.

The Executive Board has been very busy since late September with the completion of a new Scholarship Policy, amended the Scholarship Criteria and Application for the college scholarships that will be granted in 2012 and established several new conference committees to assist in the planning of our annual conference.  The new committees are the Conference Training Committee; Conference Planning Committee; Conference Vendor Committee; Conference Gift Committee; and the Scholarship Committee.

Work is currently under way to make the 2012 conference in Hutchinson the best yet.  The Board of Directors is scheduled to meet in Hutchinson in late March to put the finishing touches on the annual conference scheduled for 5^th and 6^th of September.

Finally, as the New Year approaches, I would like to wish each and everyone one of you a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to seeing you in September!
